Apparentley Obafemi MArtins hasn't bothered to turn up for pre season training....

Can't really blame him though eh?

He turned up for pre season along with all the others asked to do so. Another sky mistake.

More fun and games from "The New Leeds" (Sorry Dags)

The Guardian says that Blackburn Rovers are interested in signing Alan Smith from Newcastle.

However, there is, as usual when Newcastle are concerned, a bewildering twist in the tale.

'Sam Allardyce would like to take the utility player to Ewood Park on a year-long loan from Newcastle United but will demand that the Tyneside club continue paying a percentage of Smith's £60,000-a-week wages,' the newspaper claims.

In yet another unhappy commentary on the sorry state that Newcastle find themselves, The Guardian continues by declaring:

'Even if Newcastle succeed in selling some of their high earners, including Fabricio Coloccini, Obafemi Martins, Joey Barton and Smith, this summer such deals may well either involve offering those players substantial pay-offs to leave or a commitment to keep stumping up a portion of their wages for some time after such individuals depart.'
